I’m a registered dietitian trained in New York City. My main philosophy is balance. It’s important to maintain balance how you eat to feel like the best version of you! I am passionate about helping people prevent or manage diabetes as well as helping those with chronic kidney disease avoid dialysis. If you are confused or not seeing the results you want, I can help you achieve your health goals without giving up the foods you enjoy.
I’m a registered dietitian from the Caribbean who grew up in New York City. Living in New York City has helped me to understand the eating patterns of people from different cultures. I have experience with patients on hemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis where I learned a lot about chronic kidney disease and ESRD. I also worked with the elderly population in nursing home managing conditions such as diabetes, liver failure, heart failure, hypertension, and high cholesterol. Lastly, I have experience working in an outpatient clinic for pregnant mothers and their children addressing infant and prenatal nutrition, constipation, GERD, and gestational diabetes.
It can be challenging to maintain a healthy diet with all of life’s demands. I’m here to make it simple for you. I have been trained in motivational interviewing and will help you you create manageable goals that you will maintain. Those I have worked with appreciate my honest, simple, yet non-judgmental approach. In my free time, I like to relax in nature, bake, and spend time with my family.
Both can provide nutrition education. Nutritionists may or may not have received college degrees. They may be certified to be a nutritionist and typically work in a gym, school, or independently. Registered Dietitians (RD) are required to have a bachelor's degree, undergo post-graduate internship and become licensed in the state they will practice. RD's are able to aid in treating medical conditions and can work in health care facilities such as hospitals, nursing homes or outpatient medical offices.
